As recently illustrated in the press, these multi-billion dollar industries have virtually no large scale independent studies demonstrating benefit to oral health.

Study design

Individual 3-armed RCT of mouthwash vs flossing vs control (just brushing). Key outcomes: Incidence of gingivitis/cavities or other measures of oral health at 6 - 12 month intervals.
